In an article by The Daily Telegraph, almost a third of all propeties for sale on the market have seen their price reduced amid uncertainty about the current state of the housing market.

From a survey by the property webiste Zoopla, the properties have seen their values cut at least once since they were first listed on the market with highest average price reductions in Rotherham, Manchester and Barnsley, where average asking prices were discounted by 7.1 per cent.

Percentage price reductions have been smaller in the south of England, with average asking prices in Chelmsford and Brighton both having been reduced by 5.1 per cent, potentially due to the fact that in the south of England the outlook for employment and economic growth is brighter.

Self storage is a great solution for house movers as it enables buyers to break the housing chain. They can sell their existing propertyand then wait until the right property comes along. For storage in North London call CityStore on 0207 428 9988.

A Japanese steel engineering company has come up with an ingenious way of securely storing hundreds and even thousands of bikes! The Bike Tree is a fully mechanized locker system that electronically tags the bicycle and takes it via a conveyor belt to a internal storage area.

When it is time to collect a bicycle, the owner swipes a card through a reader which located at the entrance and the bicycle is returned via the same automated system, taking between 15 seconds and one minute to retrieve depending on the capacity of the storage area.

The Bike Tree, now in operation in various train stations in Tokyo, can store between 600 and 6,000 bicycles. And the cost to the user? Roughly ¥1,800 (£13.50) for a secure monthly bicycle parking spot with additional discounts for students.
